Earlier this year I was fortunate enough to assist in fieldwork with the US National Park Service's Submerged Research Center (SRC) and Southeast Archaeological Center (SEAC). This was as part of the knowledge and skills sharing partnership that is at the core of the Slave Wrecks Project (SWP). During this fieldwork we searched for 2 slave ships that sank off the coast of St. Croix, one of the US Virgin Islands. Our investigation over the area’s coral reefs included both the use of a magnetometer and scuba diving to proof the anomalies discovered by it.
