Walkabout of SIVIVANE SOGOGO

The isivivane project experiments with art installations in museum spaces. It is the brain-child of the Centre for Visual Arts, University of KwaZulu-Natal. SIVIVANE SOGOGO! is the third edition of the project in the KwaZulu-Natal Museum.

This year the installation uses archaeological objects such as hand-axes, rock engravings, grindstones and bored stones to create memory cairns and game boards in the public galleries.

The format of the walkabout will be a conversation with Louise Hall, Tsholofelo Moche and Jess Draper of the CVA Artist Collective and Justine Wintjes, KwaZulu-Natal Museum.

We hope to see you there!

After the museum visit, you are welcome to join us for a bring-and-share lunch at Gavin and Justine’s house in Ashburton. Please RSVP by end Friday, 17 November, if you intend coming along so that we can plan properly.  Best, Gavin - gwhitelaw@nmsa.org.za
