ANNELIZE KOTZE AND LAILAH HISHAM:  BEHIND THE SCENES GUIDED TOUR OF KHOE AND SAN OBJECTS:
    • Bags adorned with beadwork 
    • Perfume holders  - holding sweet smelling herbs
    • Karosses - a cloak or rug of animal skins used in southern Africa
    • Quivers - a case for carrying or holding arrows
    • Arrows – used for hunting and other purposes (surprise object)
    • Beadwork – found on various clothing and other items, using mostly ostrich egg shells

BIOS: ANNELIZE KOTZE is a Curator: Social History Collections (Iziko Museums of South Africa). She is President of the Commonwealth Association of Museums.
LAILAH HISHAM is a Collections Manager.
 
LIMITED TO 12 PARTICIPANTS ONLY BECAUSE OF CONFINED SPACE. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO ARCHSOC MEMBERS OVER NON-MEMBERS. If there is sufficient interest, this outing will be repeated for those on a waiting list. 

THERE IS NO ENTRANCE FEE, BUT THERE WILL BE A R20 ARCHSOC FEE FOR MEMBERS payable upfront for the visit (R40 FOR NON-MEMBERS, if there are vacant spaces).
 
VENUE: Meet at 10:15 for 10:30 in the reception foyer of the SA IZIKO Social History Centre (former National Mutual Life Association of Australia Ltd building), Church Square/Spin Street, Cape Town City Centre.
