About the Outing:
Did you know that Mostert's Mill is the last working windmill in Africa?
John Hammer, who has been the miller at Mostert’s Mill since 1995 and is currently the chairman of the Friends of Mostert’s Mill (an NPO), will lead a tour lasting just under an hour. He will share the history of the Welgelegen farm and Mostert’s Mill, guide attendees through the mill to demonstrate how it operates, and explain the restoration process following the fire four years ago. John will also speak about the proposed restoration of the De Nieuwe complex, located on the same erf as the mill.
